About us

NIVA is one of Sweden's six neuro-intensive care units, providing advanced and highly specialized intensive care. We care for patients with brain hemorrhages, traumatic brain injuries, and acute neurological diseases. NIVA consists of eight ICU beds, with approximately 70 employees working in the unit. We have individual schedule planning.

Anesthesia/Operation/Intensive Care Sahlgrenska (An/Op/IVA) is Sweden's largest unit for surgery, recovery care, and intensive care. Here, both planned and emergency procedures are performed by staff specialized in surgery, anesthesia, and intensive care. AnOpIVA has six operating departments with 34 operating rooms, a preoperative clinic, and two intensive care units with a total of 28 beds. AnOpIVA conducts research, development, and education in collaboration with the University of Gothenburg, Sahlgrenska Academy, the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, and the Department of Health and Care Sciences.

What do we offer?

At NIVA, we provide highly specialized intensive care with the patient at the center. The environment is characterized by advanced technology, and the department has made significant progress in the digitalization of care. Teamwork is a crucial part of the work surrounding the patient. As an intensive care nurse, you will work alongside nursing assistants, intensive care physicians, neurosurgeons, neurologists, and physiotherapists. We offer an 8-week introduction and mentorship upon hiring. Competence development through lectures and training, as well as the opportunity to take courses, is an essential part of our work to maintain professionalism and job satisfaction. The department conducts world-class research, and as a nurse, you will have the opportunity to participate in various research projects, help develop and influence care, and have the chance to write a master's thesis in nursing. About you

You are a licensed nurse with specialized training in intensive care. Experience in intensive care/neuro care is an advantage. We are looking for someone with an interest in intensive care and development. If you are professional with good collaboration skills and have strong social competence, you will fit well into our community.
